"Pardon my French Photography was born out of my soft spot for all things French, my Love for Photography and my need to be creative and surround myself with all things pretty." - Brigitte
My name is Brigitte and I am the creative director behind Pardon my French. I'm a wife, dog-owner, Harry Potter Geek and chocoholic. As well as being a photographer I am also a midwife and I feel so lucky to get to do what I love. I feel honoured that you have taken the time to check out the Pardon my French website.
In school I was always drawn to subjects such as Art and Photography but never imagined I would pursue a career as a Photographer. At 17 years of age I lived in France for one year as part of a student exchange and needless to say I fell in love. My stay in France gave me some amazing experiences; from learning French and being immersed in the French culture to travelling Europe and learning to take the perfect selfie (before the term selfie and before there were even cameras on mobile phones). Living abroad in such a beautiful country shaped the person I am today and it was truly an unforgettable experience which I will always hold close to my heart. When I came back to Australia I finished a University degree in Midwifery and I am currently working part-time at a local hospital.
I met my husband Luke when I was 18 and fell in love. On Valentine’s Day 2013 he proposed to me while on holiday in Paris in front of the Eiffel Tower! Later that year we got married surrounded by family and friends. Luke is without a doubt the most important person in my life and we’re very lucky to have found each other so early in our lives.
We have since added two fur babies to our family, Dixie and Cosmo, who have completely transformed me into a dog lover. They are both Bull Terriers with distinct personalities and they bring so much love and joy to our lives. At the beginning of my photography journey I would practice taking photos on these two cuties day in and day out!
In August 2014 I turned to Luke and told him I wanted to start my own photography business. Two weeks later I was doing photoshoots on a loan camera, had my business name and was developing my logo. Pardon my French Photography has since blossomed into a successful photography business, shoots can be done both on location and in my home studio based in Highbury, SA. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you create the most beautiful and exquisite photos while having the most fun... get excited people!
